New Summer Events Partner
Situated on Commercial Street the organisation does what it says on the label- provides scrummy café facilities focused on families and young children.
There are no worries about pushchairs not fitting in, enough space for you and your friend’s brood and plenty of things to keep youngsters occupied. Owners Simone and Jo have thought of everything to make families feel welcome. The play area is full of inspirational wooden toys, dressing-up costumes and a pirate ship constantly feeding their imaginations whilst a baby corner allows for a range of toys for under 18 months, as well as an area for new mums to relax and breast feed.
Kids playing sorted, refreshments are next on the agenda. The cafe offers the usual range of jacket potatoes, panini’s, cakes and sandwiches and of course coffee, but it’s the child friendly menu which makes the café stand out. The Little Sprout food range includes organic sausage and mash, pasta bakes, salmon mashes and other hot dishes specifically designed for the younger consumer. And of course there are the picnic boxes, juices, fruit and other staples to keep children and mums/grandparents/dads happy.
And the Extras?
The café also offers a 'drop 'n' shop crèche facility for anyone looking to get a bit of ‘me’ time whilst shopping. Children can be booked in from 1 to 4 hours with fully qualified staff. Time to yourself, sounds appealing!
Working alongside the crèche are a range of specific activities including story time sessions, parents and toddlers sessions and tots play.
Oh, and finally, birthday parties and private functions are also offered in the ChildsPlay mix!
Childsplay Café on Events..
Staff from ChildsPlay Café will be on hand with a variety of children’s activities during the summer street theatre days on Commercial Street and John Frost Square. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for their play area and bring the children along for an afternoon out.
