"We are going to rock the party for Newport”
As if a star-studded golf tournament on September 25th wasn't enough fun, today the Princes of Newport, Goldie Lookin Chain, have officially announced a gig at Newport Centre.
Straight after the golf tournament, which will be held in Caerleon, the boys will head to Newport's largest concert arena to entertain the masses at a very-special homecoming gig.
Supported by the newly-signed Dirty Goods (their last local gig before they head off to record their debut album), up and coming group, Newport Allstars and the incredible ska tribute band, 2Rude, the boys can't wait to hit the stage, having never played the Centre before.
"This is going to be the party to end all parties,” said Xain. This is going to be the show that'll have everyone saying: "I was there" in twenty years time. We are going to rock the party for Newport."
GLC will also be joined by fellow spoofster, David Garland Jones, who created a YouTube hit with his answer back to the much-publicised Newport parodies: You Ain't Seen Ruthin Yet.
With tickets priced at just a fiver this is Newport's must-head to gig of the year.
