Welcome to the Newport Initiative website, the city centre partnership aimed at communicating the nuts and bolts on what’s happening across the city.

Since its launch in April 2005 the partnership has been involved in setting up several markets including the Farmer’s Market and other Continental Markets in the city centre as well as organising the Christmas light switch on and ‘Jumpin’ in July’ summer events in the heart of the city.

We have also been busy talking to businesses across the city about the exciting new developments taking place and launched the ‘City Action’ newssheet as well as consultation with major developers on the new retail schemes in the city.
