Eat And Drink

 friendly staff at caffe nero

Trying to grab a brew or blow out on a three course meal? We can accommodate both. The arrival of new coffee houses indicate the increased interest in the blossoming city and it can now boast a choice of ‘Cappuccinos’, ‘Lattes’ and ‘Americanos’ flowing from Commercial Street to High Street.

The Chandlery maintains its reputation as the top class restaurant in the city for business or pleasure. For additional refreshment with a view, the café /bar at the Riverfront Arts Centre is an ideal place to take in the spectacular City Bridge or to study the progression of waterfront developments.

taste buds

If you’re around the High Street/Upper Dock Street area there’s good news if you’re looking for somewhere new to eat.

Taste Buds of Newport recently opened at 180 Upper Dock Street, serving up fresh paninis, soups and rolls made to measure. Give them a call for a full listing on 01633 216316.

Meanwhile the upstairs of the indoor market brings the fun back into eating and should be a great draw for the kids. Betty’s Ice-cream Parlour (named after the legendary Betty Boo) serves all the main café style hot food but its main draw is its Ice cream. Selling Joes Ice cream from Swansea , visitors can choose from a variety of banana splits, apple pie and ice cream and a wonderful array of other dessert dishes….absolutely scummy!

tracks

And finally, Tracks has also opened up on Cambrian Road. This is a really funky coffee house that has excellent lounging facilities where you can watch the world go by. Hot food choices are great and their snacks are second to none. Give it a go.
