No Ordinary Letting for Modus’ Friars Walk Scheme
Modus has confirmed the signing of Marks & Spencer to anchor the Northern end of its spectacular Friar’s Walk development in Newport, South Wales. Top high street retailer M&S, who is taking 80,000 sq ft, join Debenhams (105,000 sq ft) and New Look who have recently signed to take a 30,000 sq ft store.

| Friars Walk will provide Newport with the retail and leisure facilities that the city deserves and will complement the major city wide regeneration programme. The £200m development will provide 450,000 sq. ft. of new retail space, a multiplex cinema, a new restaurant quarter, a city hotel, 250 new style apartments, and a new bus station. |

| The development will bring new and exciting architecture to the city and will boast a vibrant mix of well known retailers alongside independent stores, which will cater for a wide range of tastes and needs. Nigel Poad, Leasing Director for Modus said: “We are very pleased to have secured Marks and Spencer in a store that will double their trading footage demonstrating the confidence they have in Newport. We have a number of other deals in solicitors hands with major fashion operators, which will strengthen the overall retail offer in the city”. |

Construction is due to start on site in spring 2008 and the anticipated completion date is 2010. Lunson Mitchenall and Tushingham Moore are agents for the scheme.
