Do you want to be a Star at the Switch On?
We have teamed up with the South Wales Argus to invite one lucky Newportonian the unique opportunity to join the Mayor to switch on the Christmas lights in Newport. All you have to do is write letting us know why you should switch on the city’s Christmas lights in less than 100 words! Perhaps it could be a special anniversary, birthday, or simply a Christmas treat. You can also nominate someone who’s done something to help the community this year!

As well as the opportunity to switch on the lights, our ‘star’ and up to three family or friends will also receive a bundle of gifts including panto tickets, tea at the Mayors Mansion House, a Christmas food hamper, a fab pre switch-on lunch as well as an eyewatering set of goodies from favourite retailers Boots on Commercial Street and Woolworths in the Kingsway Shopping Centre. The Kings Hotel have also donated tickets to one of its top class dinner shows and will be hosting the winners at the VIP reception in its ballroom.
