Marks & Spencer Celebrates 100 Years in Newport City Centre

Marks & Spencer will be celebrating a special anniversary in Newport on the 28th July. It’s 100 years since the retailer set up in the city centre and this popular shop is throwing a party to celebrate from 8.30am until 6.00pm  Tying in with the Jumping’ in July free city centre events in Newport on the same day, staff will be putting on food tasters courtesy of local producers and suppliers including the Serous Food Company and Avana Bakeries. In addition, children’s entertainers will be on hand in the children’s wear section and goodie bags and giveaways will be up for grabs all day.
Of special interest to local people will be the display of fabulous pictures form the archives documenting the shop’s history plus a local schools competition. St Anne’s Hospice will also be helping out packing bags. Everyone is invited to join the celebrations on Commercial Street throughout the day.
