Newport Museum & Art Gallery now has a new permanent gallery that introduces visitors to its collections and to both life in the medieval period and the medieval ship that was discovered on the banks of the River Usk at Newport.

| Invited guests will be attending the official launch of the gallery on Friday 14 March 2008 between 2 and 4pm and visitors to the museum on the weekend will be able to enjoy free entertainment provided by ''Trouvere'' and join in with family friendly craft events and games in the galleries between 10 and 12pm and 1 and 3pm on Saturday 15 March 2008. |

| On Sunday 16 March 2008 there will be an ''Open Day'' at the Maes Glas Ship Centre to enable visitors to find out more about Newport''s Medieval Ship.'' |
