Jack climbs the magical beanstalk!

The Riverfront’s 2007/8 panto Jack and the Beanstalk is set to be the best one yet and will run until Saturday 7 January 2008.

Following the success of Dick Whittington and Cinderella, The Riverfront will again be teaming up with Hiss and Boo to produce another seasonal comedy cracker. Last year, audiences were rolling in the aisles at the antics of the hilarious Ugly Sisters Brian Hibbard (Emmerdale, Pobol y Cwm) and Lee Mengo (Germolena in Cinderella), so by public demand, they’re back this year for more panto madness and mayhem. Joining them will be Rainbow star Jane Tucker (of Rod, Jane and Freddy fame) and Ieuan Rhys (Pobol y Cwm).

See the enormous magic beanstalk grow before your very eyes, as the rascally Jack and his motley crew battle with the evil Giant. Will the giant really eat daisy the cow? Will Jack win the heart of Jill? Will the Fairy’s magic work over the Rainbow? And, will they all live happily ever after?

With a top notch comedy cast, many talented Newport youngsters and a gruesome Giant who will make your hair stand on end, this promises to be The Riverfront’s biggest and brightest panto ever

Jane Tucker is excited to be back in Wales performing again, she said “I’m so pleased to be in Newport this Christmas. Rod, Jane and Freddy toured extensively in Wales in the 90’s and we always had wonderful audiences who were so warm and welcoming and I still have fans who still write to me now! I love The Riverfront Theatre and Arts Centre and I’m really looking forward to playing Fairy Rainbow this year in Jack and The Beanstalk. It’s a lovely part to play because The Fairy makes everyone’s dreams come true which makes me a very popular character and adored by one and all!”
